Game clients and patches are available in this section, get started with PSO BB by downloading all the required files over here.

Game Setup

Step 1. Client Installation

Once you had downloaded the setup.exe from the mirrors above, proceed to install it and complete the Setup process as usual

※ It is normal the text might look garbled in this window in non-japanese versions of Windows, wont affect the installation, just keep pressing "Next" till the setup is completed.

※ Before proceeding with the installation make sure you uninstall the clients from other PSOBB servers, they are custom and tend to cause issues with the official SEGA installer such as being unable to properly launch the game.

Step 2. Patching the Client

Once you had downloaded the server patch files, copy and paste the wsock32.dll and psobb.cfg files into the main game folder, the default route is located at [C:\SEGA\PHANTASY STAR ONLINE Blue Burst] as pictured below.

Step 3. Updating the Client

Start the game by clicking the shortcut on your desktop or by executing the online.exe in the main game folder, then select the first option in the game launcher, a little window might appear with the following message, click the left button [Yes] to proceed.

The game will start in a window, choose Patch Download on the title screen and let it idle for a minute or so while it downloads the required updated game files from the server.

Once the files are downloaded the game will prompt you to press the ENTER key to close it.

Step 4. Starting the Game

Start the game again and on the title screen select Register ID/Password then type any id/password combination of 8 characters of less, this will be your main game account and will be created automatically once you login into the game, so please keep it safe and write it down.

※ It is important you never lose this information as theres no way to recover your account afterwards.

※ Please use a unique password for your security

Select Confirm and then choose Start Game and you will be able to create your character and play the game as usual from here on.

Translated Launcher/Options

While the Game is available in both Japanese and English thanks to the patches posted above, we are still using the official client so the launcher and options are still shown in their native Japanese language, here's a little translation of those menus to help you get started.

※ If you are unable to select a resolution and/or the field is blank, please restart your computer and try again.

※ Upon first game start a little confirmation box might appear, in that case please press the LEFT button to confirm and continue the game load.

※ If you encouter any issue during the installation please refer to the server troubleshooting section for more information regarding common issues
